Prince fans can look forward to remembering the late icon with a forthcoming photography book, titled Picturing Prince: An Intimate Portrait.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the coffee-table publication will feature rare photos of the music legend taken by Prince’s former art director and photographer, Steve Parke.
“It has a very off-the-cuff feel and a down-to-earth feel and less of a setup, because, in fact, that’s what we did. It wasn’t very planned,” says Parke.
Parke explains that he was inspired to create the book after he got a great response to some photos he posted on Facebook after Prince’s death in April. Prince’s longtime friend Sheila E wrote the foreword, and in addition to the photos, Parke has contributed small vignettes describing moments he spent with the Purple One.
“The good thing about the images is everything I have is stuff that Prince was OK with,” adds Parke. “He and I would go through them and choose ones to keep and which ones to get rid of.”
Picturing Prince: An Intimate Portrait will be released in the United Kingdom in April of 2017 and in the United States near that same date. It’s now available to pre-order on the Amazon UK website.
